Projektthema
Our topic is the human body. It is an incredibly complex system made up of
various organs, tissues, and cells that work together to keep us alive and enable
us to perform daily activities. Our bones, muscles, and organs play a central role
in every aspect of our lives, from movement to basic biological functions like
breathing and digestion.
Goal of the project
Our interactive exhibition concept introduces children to the human body in a
playful and engaging way. They learn about the most important body parts—
such as the hand, arm, leg, head, and elbow—and are encouraged to move the
corresponding body part in a fun and interactive manner.
This approach enhances their understanding of their own bodies, sparks curiosity,
and creates an unforgettable learning experience that combines fun and
knowledge.
Two different difficulties
We also thought it would be a good idea to create two different modes with
different ‘difficulty levels,’ as some body parts (e.g., the arm) can be broken
down into many subcategories (shoulder, biceps, elbow, forearm, etc.).
This way, the graduates of the ‘easier’ level could continue having fun and learn
more precisely about the different components of the body. Older children could
also then use the IKS once they are already familiar with the basic components.
However, we didn’t fully develop the second level, as our focus was on the
‘beginner’ level.
Implemetation of the prototype
For the final implementation, we created a video of the character telling the story
while performing movements from Character Animator. We generated his voice
using the AI program Eleven Labs with the GiGi voice, carefully cut it to fit, and
overlaid it onto the video. The editing was done in Adobe Premiere Pro. From
the individual clips, we then created a click dummy in Figma to implement the
interactions.
Designing the character
Our character Finn was designed in Adobe Illustrator. It is important that the
character is made up of individual body parts so that they can be made movable
in Character Animator.
The construction
We also worked on a reward that players would receive upon completing the
level. This helps keep children motivated and focused. For this, we designed the
book that plays a role in the story, printed it out, and stapled it together as a
small booklet
