Not quite perfect?
What does perfection mean in this day and age? Is it an achievable goal—or rather a construct imposed on us by the media, society, and cultural norms? In a world characterized by social networks, filters, and idealized representations, perfection is often set as the standard. But who decides what is perfect—and who fits into this image?
Perfection, as it is often understood today, has little room for the uncomfortable, the raw, the imperfect. Yet, it is precisely in these “imperfect” places that we see how diverse and human our society is. They remind us that true perfection does not lie in outward appearances but in the way people treat each other, are there for each other, and organize their lives regardless of external circumstances.
Our project aims to draw attention to these often overlooked spaces. It questions why we equate perfection with certain places and lifestyles and whether these ideas are too narrow. Perhaps it is precisely the imperfect that makes our world more human, more real, and more alive.
