Technologies open up new possibilities. What meaningful services or products can be created with cutting edge technologies (such as machine learning, augmented reality, sound processing)?
There still are a few Contemporary Witnesses left. But they are becoming fewer. In the not too distant future, there will be no survivor left, no one left to stand in front of school classes and report. What does that mean? For society, for the memorial sites, for keeping the memory alive?
It is our generations responsibility To keep the framework of a wise and sustainable culture of remembrance stable and to expand it independently.
Stolpersteine can be found in most cities in Germany. Stones against forgetting and for remembering who lived here and was involuntarily removed under the rule of the Nazi regime. But the fate and history of these people is longer than can fit on one stone.
That is why our ambition is to bring the stones and their stories to life with the help of augmented reality. Our goal is to create an interactive learning and discovery experience that invites you to learn more about the local history of your neighbourhood or a whole new city.
The concept can be extended to various elements in the cityscape such as information boards, monuments or memorials.
Our digital reconstruction of the synagogue in Schwäbisch Gmünd
Although some stories are already lost, we still do not forget them. Because, “you are not forgotten, until your name is forgotten.”
