We created infographic posters on the topics of urban food and insect farming, two aspects of the topic “Futures of Food” which we found most relevant. The second poster also has digital content in Augmented Reality to add an additional layer of information and interaction.
With our posters we wanted to explain the complex issues and solutions using simple visual representations in an exciting and clear way. On the basis of a mix of isometric and 2-dimensional illustrations and pictograms the respective future scenario is presented in a comprehensible way.
Our first visualisation informs the user about a future vision of agricultural economy in cubes, which would be suitable in different locations. This concept is a potential solution towards an environmentally sustainable food production.
In a second project we created an infographic poster providing information on insect farming and comparing it with cattle farming in three categories: “environment”, “people” and “animals”.
In addition to our poster, we provide more information using Augmented Reality. There we created animations for the respective categories and additionally listed our sources.

Our first poster was supposed to list differences between conventional farming and modern urban farming in a cubes system. Sketches for the concept of the poster have been made.
A variety of approaches for the new poster was brought together until a decision was made as to how the topic would be conveyed in the best way.
All the researched information, data and infographics were assigned to the respective topic. This helped to see how much and which content should be shown.
The decision was made, to adopt some elements of the poster from the first project. A final sketch was created, before starting with the actual designs.
The way the information is presented in the AR application is animations to be more visually appealing and clear.
The final animations for the addition with AR have the look of information on our poster and an arrow pointing on the animation.
