“Cúigfhill” is a geometric exploration of structure and layering. Meaning “five fold” in Gaeilge (Irish), it is constructed from 60 individual cardboard segments. Three pieces interlock making a cone shape which forms a corner of the model. These corners layer on top of each other, with five layers converging to create the faces of the model. This is where the name Cúigfhill comes from. The overlapping design creates a star-like effect. This intricate composition highlights the repetition, connection, and dimensionality of the cardboard pieces. The simple material is transformed into a complex architectural form.
