Why do we want to change the education sector?
Currently, the world faces many questions. To tackle the 21st century problems, we have to cope up with the modern world and the knowledge-driven era of technology. To promote the people who have been given this task, we have to adapt our education system to individual interests and strengths.

This is the reason why we want to change the way classes are taught.
Where should we start?
After a lot of research, we understood that education is quite a complex topic. A survey involving 1048 students aged 10 to 16 and around 500 parents with children in this age group provided us with lot of inisights. These are the most important key-learnings about students:
2 from 3 pupils don’t like to go to school.
59 % rate the use of digital media as something they should learn.
Co-determination promotes the students joy of learning.
80 % take parents as the most important mediators of knowledge.
All these problems lead back to the same fundamental problem: Education is not student-centered.
How can we change that?
By the use of cutting-edge technologies we can adapt lessons to the student’s interests.
Instagram shows you content you will like. Spotify suggests you the songs you will listen to. And Tinder even knows your type of women / men.
So we asked ourselve: If they can predict what suits you the best, isn’t it possible to do the same for educational purpose. So students can focus on different needs and personalities.
With mibook, every student has the possibility to customize their learning journey.
mibook understands and identifies the students’ interests and then builds class material based on the students’ profile. Thereby, becoming a customized textbook that learns from every single student and provides specific adaptations for each of them. Every topic they see in class is going to be taught according to their personalities and interests, so that they can associate the facts of the topics with their own contexts and therefore, learn easier.
Teachers have mandatory topics to teach, but they don’t have mandatory methods to do it. mibook adapts the topic to the student and taking advantage of the technologies available nowadays, it creates activities outside the ordinary for a better learning.
While working on the tasks, mibook analyses how the student proceeds. By using this data, mibook becomes more accurate in it’s suggestions.
mibook also tracks the student’s learning progress by making short activities at the end of every topic. This way, student and teacher can track their progress. If the student is having more difficulties with certain units, the tool will reinforce the content taught along the process.
Parents are also a relevant part in the education journey. According to research, 4 from 5 pupils take parents as the most important mediators of knowledge. In order to include parents as mentor and learning into the everyday life of students, mibook sends notifications to inform about upcoming activities or events that are related to the content seen in the class.
Teachers are often repeating old methods and sticking to the traditional system. But why? A significant percentage of our interviewed users indicated that they have a heavy organizational workload and therefore, they have much less time to focus on their students’ needs.
So why would they change their ways?
As long as teachers in front of the class and in charge of everything, they don’t have time for individual support.
