I could tell you I am immune to everything but that is a lie.
The starting point for this project was our desire not just to show beautiful images, but to explore a topic that affects us all: the relationship between humans and nature.

For centuries, humans have taken up more and more space – through urban development, industry, and technology. And yet, nature has never truly disappeared. It adapts, it endures – sometimes quietly, sometimes visibly. In everyday life, we often overlook it, even though it’s always around us.

With our photo series, we want to draw attention to these quiet, overlooked places. To the interaction between the man-made and the organic. To the cracks in concrete where green breaks through. To the signs that remind us we are never truly independent from nature – even if we often act as though we are.

A line from the song Truth to Power by OneRepublic accompanied us throughout the project and gave it its title:
“I could tell you that I am immune to everything. But that’s a lie.”
For us, this line expresses a central truth:
The belief that we can exist without nature is an illusion.
