The ‘MULIM Project’ archives vintage items discovered in flea markets and secondhand shops, exploring the connection between people, objects, and memory. The name ‘MULIM’ holds a double meaning: it means ‘a forest of objects’ (物林), and in Korean, it play on the expression of being completely hooked or ‘bitten’ by an item.
Rather than just asking about where these items came from or where they are going, we focused on the interaction between the owner and the object—specifically, ‘how the object perceives me’ (To the Owner) and ‘how I perceive the object’ (To the Object). Our work captures the traces of time left on these items, the quiet affection of their owners, and the subtle moments of their everyday life together. Come and imagine the ‘Second Life’ and the hidden stories of these seemingly ordinary objects!
