The liminal is the space between the “no longer” and the “not yet”, a space of transition and of newness. This project tries to explore this concept through “liminal spaces” a genre of uncanny images of humanless spaces, which exploded unto the scene of internet aesthetics during the late 2010s.
“The liminal lens” explores the spaces we encounter every day from a different perspective. Without the context of humans, these spaces take on a new feeling. This uncanniness is explored through different media: photos, photo-manipulation and AI-Imagery. But these spaces are not only explored as barren spaces, but canvases for new modes of thought.
